Frequently Asked Questions
What is health coaching?
Health Coaches support clients in reaching health goals using a science and experience based approach catered to each individual client. “Health” goals are not limited to just nutrition or exercise, but is viewed from a holistic lens including relationships, career, spirituality, etc. Coaches help clients reach their full potential by raising awareness, identifying patterns, shifting limiting beliefs, and using a growth mindset.
How is coaching different than therapy?
Therapists analyze a clients past as a tool for understanding present behaviors, where coaches focus on current problematic behaviors so the client can work to modify them. Coaches help clients clarify their goals, identify obstacles, and empower to create actions toward goals. Coaches do not diagnose clients while therapists do determine mental illnesses and pathologies so clients can be clinically treated. Coaches focus on the “how” to achieve desired goals, while therapists focus on the “why” certain behaviors are occurring.
How do I know if this is right for me?
This works best if you are open minded, ready to transform your life, are committed to achieving your goals, and to take ownership of your results. Coaching is the right move for you if you want to get “unstuck” and set goals you can achieve, feel like you’re life is on autopilot and want to break out of your comfort zone, and if you want to stop unhelpful habits and replace with healthy alternatives.
If you’re looking for a quick fix, working with me may not be best for you. If it’s not the right fit, I am happy to partner with you to find you the right resources. I only work with those who feel they will genuinely benefit from working on themselves in a transformational way.
What is your coaching style and approach?
I create a warm, open, and safe space for clients to go inward, encouraging them to be experts on themselves. I serve as a guide on the side, coaching clients on how to make lifestyle shifts.. I will not dictate a plan of action for clients, however, work alongside to co-create reasonable goals within time frames and objectives so you know what you’re working toward. I provide a structure for organic transformation and accountability throughout the process. This is not a one size fits all approach, every client has unique goals and needs.
